Messages from Convening Committee 07/08

The Convening Hall for National University of Singapore's Inter-Hall Games 07/08 is King Edward VII Hall; Co-Convening Hall: Raffles Hall.

Below are some parting messages by the Convening Committee 07/08.

Dear sportsmen, sportswomen as well as hall residents,

It has been a long journey since the first day of IHG on 2 Jan 08, the opening ceremony on 19 Jan 08 till the closing ceremony on 22 Feb 08. Throughout these 2 months, most of the games had a smooth journey from the prelims till the finals while some of the games faced some difficulties in between due to some unforeseen circumstances but ultimately I would like to acknowledge that it is the co-operation between the convening captains, captains, players as well as conveners that made IHG a success. 3 cheers to all parties involved!

It is my honour to be the IHG Convening Comm. 07/08 chairperson. Hereby, I would like to thank Dominic (ex-KEVII sport sec) and Terence (ex-KEVII JCRC president) for having the faith in me and giving me the opportunity to lead the committee formed by both KEVII and RH members. Extra credits to Dominic for liaising with the IHG Convening Comm. 06/07 Chairperson and Vice Chairperson to ensure that I receive a proper pass down. Special thanks to Wei Lin and Yan Fang (ex-Convening Comm. Chairperson and Vice respectively) for all the help, advices, suggestions and most importantly - encouragement. Without you girls, I dare to say that IHG 07/08 would not be able to go as smoothly as it is. On the other hand, I would like to thank my current committee members for the hard work throughout these 2 months. I would admit that leading a 40 member comm. is not a simple task but having a wonderful Vice - Yee Lin - as well as an efficient Secretary - Theng Wai - impossible is nothing. Having organised planners in the Opening and Closing ceremony I/Cs - Ray and Wanqing respectively - as well as webteam I/Cs - Kok Pun and Yuezhi - further lightened my burden.

Not forgetting contributions from RH side, especially Nic and Sem who ensured that work got done efficiently. Thanks to all my conveners that made sure the individual sports they were in charge of went on smoothly throughout the IHG period. Most importantly, i would like to thank all my friends (from KEVII, NUS as well as back at my home country) for all the support - especially to Hui Ann and Hui Hui, thanks for being there when i needed support, thanks for listening to my nonsensical complains for 2 months long!!! Without all the support from friends, I might have broken down easily. Trust me, a random word of "Brenda Jia you!" , "all the best Brenda" , "You're doing good, keep it up" are the best morale boosters!!!

Last but not least, thanks to all the sports sec/directors from all 6 halls namely Nick from KEVII, Lixin from RH, Shawn from EH, Marc from KR, Darren from SH and Hongyi from TH. Thanks for being supportive, suggestive as well as co-operative!!!Before I end my long wided "essay", I would like to apologise on behalf of myself as well as IHG Convening Comm. 07/08 for all the mistakes, screw ups or troubles we had caused directly or indirectly. May all sweet memories of IHG 07/08 stays with you throughout.

KE7 IHG Convening Comm. 07/08.

Thank you to Brenda, Yeelin, ThengWai and everyone else for working so hard to make this IHG possible! It's been tedious planning all the duty schedules and updating the websites, as well as liaising with the convening captains etc. To the other convenors, I know it's been difficult convening for a sport u know nothing about, but i guess most of us pulled through. Well done! Also, big thanks to my convening captain and fellow IVP Girls Captain Hui Juan from KR, as well as all the captains from the hall squash teams. Thank you for cooperating and making my life so much easier. I'm glad to have made many more friends amidst the intense rivalry between halls and I dare say that this is the friendliest IHG Squash Tournament ever! Congratulations and see you next year!

Dear all

Thank you all for being there for IHG Closing Ceremony 2008! Special thanks to Hong Ju, Ray, Brenda, Kok Pun, Yuezhi, Theng Wai, Christina, Fang Chee, Sam, Wan Ling and Team Leader Puneeth, etc for the great assistance you have offered me for the event! It's really been a great pleasure working with all of you!:)) Cheers to end of IHG 07/08!

Thank you everyone. IHG 07/08 had been a success!!! It is my pleasure working with everyone of you. I must admit that being the secretary of convening committee isn't easy. Liaising between the members of the comm and the administrative staff as well as sportsmen of the halls, trying to make the best arrangement to satisfy everyone's appeal. I would like to grab this opportunity to express my sincerest apology if i ever appeared unapproachable or been harsh to anyone. Thank you for tolerating all the mistakes/errors that i had make throughout my role as the secretary.Thank you to OSA, SRC, OED, Hall masters and RFs, Brenda, Yeelin, convenors, webteam, ceremony team, other members of the comm, all sportsmen, performers as well as the emcees for contributing to the success of IHG 07/08. 3 cheers to everyone!!!

IT'S FINALLY OVER! Haha. It's been a bittersweet experience, participating in the Convening Committee. There were some bad moments, but it was mostly a sweet journey. Thank you everyone in ConveningCommittee 07/08 for working so hard! My thanks to BrEnda, Theng Wai, Yue Zhi, Puneeth, Ray, Wan Qing (Ah Jie!), Laura (GanMa!), KEVIIans (& Rafflesians?!) and all the other people in the Convening Committee who have made IHG 07/08 a success! My apologies if there are any delays/mistakes on this IHG website. The Webteam has done the best they could (:
